This car is appraised at $8500, but I must sell it now. This is an excellent vehicle at this price.
1971 Volvo 1800E, 2-litre, 130hp, B20E engine with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection. It has been extensively restored over the past 21 years I have had it.
All mechanical and electrical systems have been rebuilt, restored, or replaced, and I redid the interior once. I have driven approximately 20,000 miles since the engine and transmission rebuilds. The engine was rebuilt using an IPD piston kit to .030 overbore, giving this car approximately 150hp. As this is fuel injected, its original hp rating of 130 hp is substantially higher then the previous P1800 engines with the twin SU carburettors, which produced about 95 hp. This makes a difference as these vehicle weigh quite a lot, about 2900 pounds.
The body is all metal, there is no rust. Although the tail fin chrome trim is not shown in the pictures, I do have it stored (just need to locate some clips to attach it). The under carriage was heavily rust-proofed when I bought the car, I've never found a rusted bolt during all the work I've done. I've completed replaced both front end and rear end suspensions systems, I added extra insulation to the interior to minimzed road noise, and when doing repairs, I have always bought new parts, since I don't want to have to repeat the labor more often by using used parts. There is an Nakamichi DVD Stereo in the dash, and two speakers in the back, that are not original. I recently replaced all window and door trim and rubber seals. There is an Volvo air conditioning system, with a new York compressor recently installed. The original paint color is Steel Blue, I last had it painted with a two stage process, and the shop matched the original color with a Mercedes blue that was close to the original enamel paint.
The seats need to be reupholstered, new leather seats are available online for a cost of about $300 each.
This is an automatic, which makes it very rare. If you are looking for a standard, then you can convert this for around $1k. If you do not want an automatic, and do not want to convert this vehicle, please do not contact me.
