These panels have an outstanding NRC rating. Made the world of difference for me when i first purchased a pair of professional studio monitors. Each panel is $50 dollars, or 4 panels for $190.
why treat your recording environment? Its pointless to be obsessed with latest hardware/analog gear gimmicks unless your studio underwent proper acoustic treatment, otherwise, all you will really hear is the room itself.. in other words, your studio monitor or home Theatre speaker will never actually reveal and reach their true potential sound, the way the speaker manufacturer intended for it to sound in the first place (Note, that since most studio monitors are calibrated in so called "sound chambers" rooms with near zero reflections, where an engineer sits and listens to the speaker for hours and in turn makes appropriate adjustments. These acoustc panels will will enable you to successfully eliminate most if not all of unwanted sonic content (waves that bounce in your room in spontaneous geometrical fashion), as a result, even after the very first basic acoustic treatment, you will start to hear even the most subtle/trivial changes in EQ, your mix will improve drastically, the so called sweet spot or RFZ will increase to the point where phantom image will become clear allowing you to allocate every single element within the mix and make appropriate adjustments within 3D mixing space you have created. Your gear will sound the way it SUPPOSE to sounds!
The NRC of these panels has a Whooping 0.43 at 125Hz (which is almost 3(!!) times higher than Owens Corning 703). and 0.90 NRC through out the entire spectrum initiating at 300Hz. Therefore, not only do these panels are extremely efficient at absorbing unwanted sonic garbage, they will also absorb a complete sonic range.
Durability: The build quality of these panels is excellent, you can hang them, stock them, drop them, they will never brake, solid wooden frame with fully permeable fabric that lets the sound pass through and prevents it from coming back out.
In conclusion: 1) Superior Noise Reduction Coefficient properties. 2) 3 times more effective at 125Hz than famous Owens Corning 703. 3) Behaves like a bass trap due to ability to pick frequencies below 125Hz. 4) Preserves those stylish looks of your studio.
