Finishing is done using a two part epoxy base to make the tops smooth without compromising the authentic character marks. After two coats of epoxy, several coats of satin 2-part urethane is applied on (sprayed) top. This enhances the colour of the table, allows us to keep very deep character marks, makes the top waterproof, and provides resiliency to heat.
